Safe, clean facilities are part of a healthy school day. SWIG’s sanitation plan identifies Zoe City Light, Mima Elite and Water Supply Primary Schools as beneficiaries. Aging, overcrowded latrines and limited privacy and hygiene facilities affect younger learners and students with disabilities.
The plan. proposes eight ventilated improved pit latrine blocks—five for girls and three for boys—alongside child-friendly, accessible toilets, a bio-digester and two gravity-fed handwashing stations. Hygiene training will cover safe water handling, disease prevention and care of facilities. School health clubs, formed by student representatives and a teacher, will help maintain handwashing stations and promote good hygiene. This page describes proposed work in SWIG’s project document; it will be updated with confirmed implementation and outcome information.
